To maintain the integrity of our system and protect the safety of our members, only approved contractors through Yellowhead Gas Co-op are permitted to perform primary service re-routes that connect to our infrastructure.

Requirements to Become A Contractor

To become an approved contractor with Yellowhead Gas Co-op, applicants must meet a series of professional and safety-related qualifications. These requirements are designed to protect our infrastructure, ensure member safety, and maintain high-quality service standards throughout our region.

Contractor Expectations

Here’s what’s expected once you’re approved:

High-Quality Workmanship

All natural gas work must meet Alberta Safety Codes, CSA standards, and Yellowhead Gas Co-op’s specifications. Work that falls short, whether rushed, incomplete, or non-compliant can pose safety risks and may lead to removal from our approved contractor list.

Professional Conduct

You are a direct representative of Yellowhead Gas Co-op while working on connected systems. We expect respectful communication, clean worksites, and a courteous approach with our members and staff.

Incident Reporting

If anything goes wrong on-site, whether it’s a near miss, infrastructure damage, or safety concern, we expect immediate notification so we can respond appropriately.

Documentation Maintenance

Contractors must keep licenses, insurance, and WCB coverage up to date. Failure to maintain valid documentation can lead to temporary suspension or removal from our list.

Important: Yellowhead Gas Co-op reserves the right to review or revoke contractor status at any time if these expectations are not met.
